Youth & Children's Ministries
The Salvation Army’s character-building troop programs is offered for youth grades 1st through 12th. Our troops program runs from 4:30pm to 6:00pm on Tuesdays evening and is a Biblically based program, led by trained volunteers. The Salvation Army's goal is to give young people a safe community in which to grow and prosper. Following are some of the common troop programs offered by our community corps:
For girls grades 1st through 5th, the Sunbeams program helps young ladies to develop socially, mentally and spiritually. They learn how to help others in the community, to respect nature and open their eyes to how they can make a difference in the world around them.
For girls ages 6th through 12th, the Girl Guard program emphasizes a four-fold approach addressing spiritual, physical, mental and social needs. Skills development, personal growth and community service opportunities help girls to learn to work independently and together as a group.
For boys grades 1st through 8th, the Adventure Corps program helps young men explore the world around them, learn civic responsibilities and discover ways of serving God and others.
